San Jose Water Supports Local Fall Festivities and Community Drives

SJW Shows Gratitude with Fall Community Initiatives

SAN JOSE, Calif., October 11, 2023 – San Jose Water (SJW) maintains a long tradition of giving back. This fall, SJW is proud to join local nonprofits, community organizations, and other philanthropic entities in supporting several initiatives that highlight the company’s dedication to the communities where we live, work, and serve.

“San Jose Water is more than just a utility; we’re a community partner,” said John Tang, VP of Regulatory and Customer Service at San Jose Water. “We believe there is no company without community and have been proudly serving the greater San Jose metropolitan area for generations with safe, high quality, and reliable water service. It is important to celebrate the communities we’ve all built together.”

Falling for Community

The season kicked off on September 16 with Bark in the Park, which lived up to its reputation as the US’s largest dog festival, drawing packs of dog enthusiasts and their loyal four-legged companions. SJW was a proud sponsor of this year’s milestone 25th-anniversary celebration in San Jose. Attendees enjoyed a day of outdoor festivities with their furry friends, as SJW provided misting tents, wading pools, and water bowls for dogs to cool down throughout the paw-ty!

Additional upcoming autumn initiatives sponsored by San Jose Water include:

Happy Hollow Senior Safari

Dates: September 28th and October 26th

Time: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Location: 1300 Senter Road, San Jose, California 95112

Senior Safaris are special events dedicated to local senior citizens, providing them with an exclusive opportunity to explore the wonders of Happy Hollow Zoo. Highlights include:

  • Guided tours of the zoo’s diverse animal exhibits
  • Enlightening zookeeper chats
  • Engaging animal meet & greets
  • 10,000 step challenge

The SJW crew was at the September Safari handing out planters, reusable straws, and other sustainable freebies to guests. Seniors can come say hi at the SJW booth again this October — always located near the mini SJW water tower at Happy Hollow.

Operation Gobble

Date: November 9th

Time: 11:00 AM

Operation Gobble takes place in collaboration with the California Water Association. The event donates 100 Safeway gift cards to local elected officials who then give them to the charity of their choice, in honor of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Join SJW in celebrating the South Bay’s spirit of generosity by participating in local drives that make a positive impact. Together, we’ll create a fall season filled with fun, fellowship, and the warmth of community spirit.
